We used to be taught that sin was like a wave that carried you away from God. Another analogy that comes to mind lately is that of "juggling". Juggling requires skill, yes, but also trust. You can not juggle if you can't trust enough to let go of the ball and allow it to fly and then come back into your hand at the proper time and then release it again. You are continually catching and releasing. If you are like me you do not feel comfortable releasing the ball in the first place and once you catch it the tendency is to keep it in your hand. It takes a lot of work to get up the courage to let go to change. I'm certainly not there yet. Some Finally Thoughts: The earth gives the power of life. Things grow in the earth, with nothing but the sun and rain. The earth nurtures, through the decaying of leaves, plants, animals. The cycle continues to provide instead of pollute. When the sun burns, though billions of miles away it is warm enough to keep us alive and yet not close enough to burn us up. When the moon shows it's face it is bright enough to light our way at night, and yet dim enough to give us a darkness to rest in. Things are this way for a reason, not by accident. Life exists and is nurtured. There Is power, a strong creative force that sustains us. It is not man made and it is not kept going my man power. It is a part of us that exists on its own. Even through the hundreds and thousands of years that we've polluted it, the earth still survives. The sun still burns, the waves still thunder. The air is still filled with the nutrients we need. Meditation: Imagine all your sacred loving beings surrounding you, holding you. Imagine them and feel their love for you. Know that they will take care of you. Forgive yourself for not being perfect. Allow yourself to just be and not try. Imagine that they are loving you just for you no matter how you are, angry, sad, depressed, happy, tired, ornery, healthy, strong, weak, sick, loving, pure, "unholy", cramped, tight, lose and flowing, groggy, disoriented, noncommittal, fat, skinny, loyal, creative, fast, slow, included, recluse, delighted, laughing, singing, sharing, closed off, open, gentle, harsh, sexual, void of feeling, deadened, imagine that they don't want anything from you but just for you to be you and they will never leave you and never let you get hurt. Imagine that love that is unconditional, that transcends family, parents, friends, religion, physical distance, spiritual distance, belief, behavior, judgment. Imagine that you are enfolding and they are appreciating all that you are. All that you are. ALL that you are. You are being appreciated, listened to, helped, helping, healed. You are a part of things. You are one with things, but you are not disturbed by them. Things are in harmony. There is loving. There is peace. There is gentleness. There is rest. Money is Not at the center, love is. We are all free to do what is our deepest desire. We have all that we need. Enough time, enough rest, enough help, enough healing, enough love, Enough comfort. Enough self esteem, dream, vision, creativity, calm, protection, direction. You are safe.
